Course Description

Regulations require us to manage stormwater to help reduce pollution in rivers and lakes. One of the most effective and economical ways to protect water quality is by identifying sources of stormwater pollution and preventing them from contaminating runoff. This course covers best management practices for preventing stormwater pollution.

  • Recall how the regulation of stormwater has developed.
  • Identify familiar sources of stormwater pollution.
  • Recall the effects of stormwater pollution on the environment.
  • Know some best management practices for preventing stormwater pollution.
  • Know how to respond to a spill.
  • Recall the fines and penalties for polluting stormwater.
  • Know the purpose and requirements of a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWP3).
