About This Course
Course Description
Unexpected releases of toxic, reactive, and flammable liquids and gases have led to significant harm and loss of life, highlighting the urgent need for improved industry practices and safety management controls. This course introduces the framework of a Process Safety Management (PSM) program for handling highly hazardous chemicals. Topics covered include the application of PSM, the key elements of a PSM program, and the role of employee involvement. Upon completion, learners will be able to identify the components of a PSM program, recognize the companies and processes subject to PSM regulations, and understand the critical importance of employee participation in enhancing safety. This course is the first in a series focused on Process Safety Management.
