Course Description
Blasting areas can pose significant dangers, and it’s essential for those working on such sites to understand the associated hazards, processes, and emergency procedures. This awareness course covers the activities that take place in blasting areas. However, it is not intended to qualify blasters or their crews. Instead, it is designed for all personnel present at a site where blasting occurs.
Course Objectives
- Recognize fly rock and other site hazards that are associated with blasting.
- Know what to expect during pre-blast review meetings.
- Recall precautions that reduce the safety risk associated with blasting areas.
- Identify when it is safe to re-enter a blasting site.
- Know what to do in emergencies involving blasting sites.
