About This Course

Course Description 

Injuries to bones, joints, and muscles can be incredibly painful. Victims rely on you to help minimize the risk of further damage and relieve their pain. This course will refresh your knowledge on how to respond to different types of bone, joint, and muscle injuries. It’s designed for employees who have already completed advanced first-aid training.

Course Objectives 

  • Recognize different types of potential bone, joint, and muscle injuries.
  • Know the guidelines for safe splinting.
  • Recognize joint dislocations or sprains and muscle strains and cramps.
  • Know what first aid to perform for joint dislocations.
  • Know the importance of rest, ice, compression, and elevation (RICE) for injuries to the joints and muscles.
