Stormwater and Erosion Control for Construction
About This Course
Course Description
Rainstorm runoff and snowmelt can carry pollutants such as sediment, oil, grease, and other chemicals. This contaminated runoff can enter storm drains, lakes, rivers, and streams, making it crucial to prevent stormwater contamination to ensure clean water for swimming, fishing, and drinking. U.S. federal law mandates that construction sites obtain stormwater permits when an acre or more of land is disturbed. As part of this permitting process, companies implement Stormwater Pollution Prevention Programs (SWPPs). This course covers Best Management Practices (BMPs) for stormwater and erosion control and is ideal for employees in the construction industry.
