Fire Watch

Course Description 

Each year, numerous workplace fires result from hot work activities like cutting and welding, which generate heat and sparks. Often, these tasks are performed without an adequate fire watch in place. Most hot work incidents are entirely preventable. A properly conducted fire watch is crucial for ensuring worker safety and protecting property from damage. This course outlines the roles and responsibilities of the fire watcher and is ideal for all employees.

• Understand the hazards presented by hot work.
• Describe where hot work is prohibited.
• Identify the safety precautions to prepare an area for hot work.
• Explain the role and responsibilities of fire watch.
• Recall the responsibilities of other individuals involved in hot work.
• Know what emergency procedures need to be in place for hot work
