Energy powers equipment, but when not properly controlled, it can pose serious risks to safety. That’s why we implement lockout/tagout procedures and energy control programs. This course will teach you these essential procedures and how they help ensure safety in the workplace. Your employer may require this training as part of the process to obtain lockout/tagout authorization. It’s designed for workers in both general industry and construction.

Course Objectives 

  • Know  the definition and purpose of lockout/tagout.
  • Recognize  what is included in energy control programs.
  • Be able to recall the steps for applying locks and tags.
  • Know what to do when lockout/tagout procedures involve testing, outside personnel, shift changes, and groups.
