Curriculum Description 

Workplaces can be hazardous and unpredictable, with risks such as loud noises, falling objects, flying sparks, toxic chemicals, and moving machinery. One effective way to ensure your safety is by wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), which helps shield you from these dangers and reduces your risk of injury or fatality.

This curriculum presents a comprehensive ten-part training suite focused on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The courses will cover OSHA standards for PPE and how employers establish PPE requirements. The topics included are:

2. Head Protection
3. Eye and Face Protection
4. Body Protection
5. Hand and Arm Protection
6. Foot and Leg Protection
7. Hearing Conservation
8. Respiratory Protection
9. Electrical Protective Devices

Curriculum Objectives 

• List the main requirements of OSHA’s PPE standard.
• State when head and body protection should be worn.
• Describe selecting appropriate eye, face, hand, and arm protection in your work environment.
• Describe how to select and maintain appropriate hand, arm, and foot protection for the hazards present in your work environment.
• List the hazards of electricity and know how to address them.
• Understand PPE levels of protection.
