Course Description

This course bundle includes five comprehensive courses: Welding, Cutting, and Brazing, Welding, Cutting, and Brazing Awareness, Health Concerns, Methods, and Safety Concerns.
Welding, cutting, brazing, and other forms of hot work are integral yet inherently risky tasks on many job sites. These courses introduce the common hazards associated with these activities, along with strategies to prevent injury and damage. You’ll also learn about health hazards like welding fumes, chemical exposure, radiation, and light, as well as effective control measures. This training is ideal for workers performing welding, cutting, brazing, and hot work.

Course Objectives

• Describe the roles and personnel involved in welding, cutting, brazing, and other hot work operations.
• Recognize how the hot work permit system ensures that all hazards are identified, communicated, and controlled.
• Identify fire prevention techniques used during welding, cutting, and brazing.
• Understand hazards associated with oxyacetylene and arc welding and methods to mitigate risks.
• Recall the proper storage, handling, transportation, and use of compressed gas cylinders.
• Be aware of the chemical and physical agents produced in welding operations.
• Recognize the hazards in welding fumes that may be present during hot work.
• Recall ways to control hazards, including ventilation, personal protective equipment (PPE), and body protection.
• Understand the dangers and safe practices when working with oxyacetylene troches.
• Identify personal protective equipment (PPE) to be worn.
