About This Course
Course Description
Workers are exposed to hazardous chemical products every day, which can create significant risks for both them and their employers. Hazard Communication (HazCom) training aims to equip workers with the knowledge needed to recognize and avoid hazardous chemical exposure. This course will introduce learners to HazCom and demonstrate how Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) and chemical labels can help workers prepare for hazards and respond to exposures effectively.
Course Objectives
- State the purpose and basic sections of the HazCom Standard
- Identify general responsibilities established by the HazCom Standard
- Use Safety Data Sheets to identify physical and health hazards
- Identify where and how hazard warning labels must be used
